Japanese automobile manufacturer Nissan has broken its all-time global production record for the month of October.
The company constructed 341,036 units over the course of the month – a 16.3 per cent year-on-year increase.
A 21.3 per cent growth in production against last year was recorded in the UK, with 35,447 models, largely due to the Qashqai range.
Mexican manufacturing rates increased by 14.2 per cent to 51,145 units while in the US, the Altima car pushed the month’s total to 14.2 per cent – a 3.8 per cent hike.
In its home country of Japan, the firm registered a 10.9 per cent increase to 112,698, thought to be down to the introduction of the new Rogue vehicle, the Infiniti G35 sedan and G37 coupe.
Meanwhile, the company is recalling close to 700,000 Sentra and Altima vehicles in North America due to a glitch in the software installed in the vehicles.
Japanese automobile manufacturer Nissan has put a new range of outdoor vehicle products onto the market.
Those with Pathfinder, Murana, new X-Trail or Qashqai vehicles may enjoy traveling and camping, so the firm has introduced an adventurer tent.
A sleeve fits over the vehicle’s rear and creates a tent which, in addition to an open Nissan interior, provides a place to stay.
Nissan has commented that the device is easy to put together and has all the features of a traditional tent.
"[It] is easy to assemble with permanently linked tent poles and a sewn in ground sheet. It comes complete with two large entrance doors one of which has a two metre by two metre canopy," said the firm.
The company released a Nissan Caravan in Japan in 1986. It was known as the Urvan or Homy outside of the land of the rising sun.
A preview of the latest model from Nissan is to take place at the forthcoming CLA Game Fair.
The new 4X4 will be on display from July 27th to 29th at the country sport exhibition, enabling potential buyers to check out the vehicle in more detail before it hits showrooms in September.
Nissan also intends to showcase its full range at the event, where visitors can join in activities such as game fishing and horse displays.
Details of the new X-Trail emerged earlier this month, with the car being completely restyled and available with automatic transmission in all variations of the model.
Prices are set to start at £18,795 for the 2.0-litre Trek option, while the 2.5-litre Sport and Aventura options will cost £20,695 and £22,695 respectively.
A number of extras are also available, such as the "eXtreme upgrade" – which includes roof rails and integrated lamps for another £425.
The new, upgraded versions of the Nissan X-Trail will be available in the UK with prices ranging from £18,795 to £26,720 for the more luxurious model.
Incorporating three new models – the Trek, Sport and Aventura – the Nissan X-Trail sees its modifications arising from comprehensive customer feedback in order to offer a car tailored towards the needs of the driver.
Stand-out features of the X-Trail include the new larger trunk space which includes a sliding drawer, Bluetooth phone integration as well as a climate-controlled air conditioning system.
The four new engines released by Nissan are all new for the X-Trail with the 2.0dCi engine coming in two fuel efficient versions with outputs of both 150PS and 173PS.
"The message coming back was that we changed the X-TRAIL formula at our peril. The original was loved by its owners and many didn’t want us to change a thing. It was a problem, certainly, but a nice one to have," explained Pierre Loing, vice-president of product planning at Nissan Europe.
