Hyundai helps drivers keep “closer eye on the budget”

The Getz supermini from Hyundai is being offered by the firm at a price which even the thriftiest of drivers would not balk at.

For £6,495 with three years-worth of £99 servicing, the unit also comes with electric windows and a five-year warranty.

But the Getz is not the only vehicle being offered by Hyundai for a cheap price this autumn.

Available for £4,995, the Amica 1.1 Atlantic model was a success and sold out when it first came to dealerships in August

The latest shipment of the car to forecourts has seen the manufacturer predict it will once again be a hit "for those who take great pride in keeping their motoring costs low".

Meanwhile, the South Korean automaker has announced it is to spend 260 billion won (£142 million) between October 2007 and December 2010 in order to expand its shipyard plant.

Hyundai Getz “excellent value for money”

Those needing a car for everyday use might be interested to hear that the Hyudai Getz 1.1 GSI has been described as "excellent value for money" by the spokesperson of a company which recently bought six of the models.

Ian Dickson, a spokesman for Next Step Fostering Services, said the social work company had chosen the Hyundai Getz for use by its staff as it also offers good economy in addition to a five-year warranty.

"We want to spend our time running our business and not having to worry about cars," he explained.

The team at Next Step Fostering plan to use the Hyundai cars for transportation and in their job caring for young and vulnerable people.

A review of the Hyundai Getz by What Car? described the hatchback as well-equipped, with plenty of space and easy to drive.

Hyundai Getz ‘better value than ever’

A price reduction has made Hyundai’s Getz model "better value than ever", the manufacturer has claimed.

The cost of the entry level three-door Getz GSI has been rolled back by more than £1,000, from £7,517 to £6,496 on the road, while the five-door GSI model’s price has been cut from £8,017 to £6,995.

Buyers of both three- and five-door versions of the Getz GSI will also be able to take up a three-year servicing deal for £99.

The Getz range has been popular since its UK launch in 2002, when it received accolades including the What Car? budget car of the year and Scottish small car of the year awards.

Hyundai’s price reductions have made the Getz £500 cheaper than when it was first launched, while revisions to the range have given it new looks, equipment and engines.

The GSI model comes with a 1.1-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine that offers an economy rate of 51.4mpg on a combined cycle.

Air conditioning comes as standard on the line, along with ABS with electronic brake distribution, front airbags and power steering.

Buyers pointed towards Hyundai Getz

The Hyundai Getz has been praised by Parker’s Car Guides for its comprehensive warranty provision.

Hyundai began its five-year/unlimited mileage warranty in October 2002, when the Getz was launched, meaning that any faulty parts in the car can be replaced free of charge within five years of purchasing the vehicle.

Commenting on the car itself, Parker’s said: "The Hyundai Getz was the company’s first success in attempting to produce what European customers expect in a small car. It is good to drive, cheap to run, attractive to look at and well equipped."

In its monthly round-up of the opportunities available to car buyers, the group also referred to the Skoda Fabia and the fact that it is about to be replaced by a new model, leading to potential discounts.

Parker’s states that it has seen some Fabias on offer for around £1,000 below the list price. It describes the car as "roomy" and "practical".

Vauxhall’s Vectra estate was tipped as "one of the most practical family cars you can buy", while the Fiat Ulysse was backed as the "king of the people movers".

The market analyst also referred to recent car registration figures for January, describing the Audi A4′s appearance in the top ten as "interesting" and noting that the Ford Mondeo turned up in fifth place, months before an all-new model is to be launched.
