Free Audi A3 for Cambridge apartment buyers

Individuals currently focused on moving house can get an Audi A3 as part of the purchase if they buy a home at a new Cambridge development, it has been revealed.

Cambridge house developer Redeham Homes has joined forces with Cambridge Audi, part of the Vindis Group, to provide buyers of an apartment at the riverside development Vie with a free Audi A3.

The deal is to be launched on May 16th and will run until June 16th, with interested parties encouraged to show their interest before that date.

Jayne Stevens, events and public relations manager for Vindis Group, comments: "The A3 and the Vie development compliment each other perfectly.

"Both have exquisite style and an undeniable quality that is only matched by the service both Redeham Homes and Cambridge Audi, part of the Vindis Group, provide."

Those that purchase a home within the dates will receive their free Audi A3 upon the legal completion of the apartment deal.

According to Audi, the new A3 combines "immaculate build quality with classic Audi refinement", while also offering an "unprecedented combination of luxury and value".

Audi A3 to benefit from some fuel consumption enhancement changes

In an attempt to try and reduce the fuel consumption of some of its model range by 20 per cent, Audi is to implement some new technology to some of hits cars.

Beginning with the Audi A3 1.4 TFSI with a manual gearbox, the manufacturer will add technologies including a stop-start system, an on-board computer with an efficiency programme and an energy recovery system to vehicles.

The developments will be made from the second quarter of the year, with the Audi A3 being joined by other models in the range including the AUDI a4.

It is believed that start-stop technology can reduce CO2 emissions by 5g/km on average simply by shutting down the engine of a car when it is stopped, before automatically turning back on when a motorist presses down the clutch ahead of pulling away.

Meanwhile, the on-board computer will display to a driver how they can improve their driving style to become more efficient.

According to Audi, the new A3 is "more contemporary and more distinctive than ever", thanks to the inclusion of sharper contours which help to boost road presence.

Solid driving guaranteed with Audi A3 Cabriolet

The Audi A3 Cabriolet is a convertible vehicle that the majority of individuals would be happy to own, according to one reviewer.

Writing for the Fleet Directory, Lee Sibbald revealed that the vehicle is a "solid driving machine", which would appeal to a number of motorists.

He reached his conclusion after taking the A3 Cabriolet on a road test, where he also discovered the vehicle is "stylish, well-engineered, practical and fun to drive".

Motorists interested in the vehicle will get the choice of four engines – two diesel and two petrol – with Audi believing that the bigger diesel offering will be in the highest demand.

Mr Sibbald concluded that the residual values of the A3 Cabriolet should also remain high as the fact the vehicle is a small convertible with a recognised badge will mean that second-hand demand should remain strong.

Peter Dron recently stated in the Telegraph that the Audi A3 Cabriolet is a vehicle "for the ladies" and "handles very well over smooth and bumpy roads".

Audi A3 drivers can opt for “rapid” 1.4-litre engine

Despite only featuring a 1.4-litre engine, Audi A3 motorists could still witness some "rapid" speed from the vehicle, a reviewer has revealed.

Writing for the Glasgow Sunday Mail, Graeme states that the newly-devised Audi A3 has strong all-round capabilities.

Cars with 1.4-litre engines are often seen to have decent pace without setting the world alight, but Graeme remarks that the petrol engine allows the vehicle to hit a top speed of 126 miles per hour, while only generating 137g/km of CO2.

He also explains that the vehicle could prove an ideal choice for motorists regularly using motorways because it has a "superb" ride.

Furthermore, Graeme reveals in the publication that Manchester United youngster Danny Wellbeck will take the final part of his driving test in an Audi A3.

And he concludes that the young striker is "well grounded" after choosing a vehicle that is "renowned for quality over flashiness".

Wellbeck recently picked up a Carling Cup winners medal after being included in the Manchester United team that beat Tottenham Hotspur on penalties.

Audi A3 drivers could benefit from engine improvement

Small engine used Audi A3 drivers have been told that if they buy the latest 1.4-litre petrol offering they will be getting a vehicle that gives the impression that the engine is far bigger.

According to CAR keys, a review of the Audi A3 1.4 TFSI SE by David Finlay states that the engine is one of the car’s most impressive features.

He explains that "on paper it’s equivalent to a good naturally-aspirated 1.6, but in everyday driving it actually feels more like a two-litre, without any hint of turbo lag to give the game away".

Furthermore, the vehicle still offers motorists a solid fuel economy of 47.9 miles to the gallon, while generating CO2 emissions of 140g/km.

Mr Finlay added that he was a fan of one of the Audi’s old-fashioned features in that the footrest was in a "sensible" place and not positioned too far forward so a driver has to stretch to make contact.

Channel Four commented in a review of the Audi A3 that the vehicle came equipped with "high quality" interior.

Audi A3 and A4 drivers legible for free MOT tests

Owners of a used Audi A3 or a used Audi A4 could benefit from a new loyalty reward offer that will enable them to receive a free MOT test on their vehicle.

Audi is looking to support drivers of its vehicles by offering the free tests on all cars that have been on the road for a minimum of three years.

Drivers of the vehicles can obtain their free checks at all participating UK Audi Centres by registering online through the manufacturer’s website.

The offer is only available to privately owned Audi models.

Meanwhile, Audi is also working on a new online tool that will enable motorists to find out where their nearest centre is, while using the tool to book in their service for when it best suits them.

A review of an Audi A3 hatchback by WhatCar? states that the vehicle "offers a classy cabin, strong residuals and composed handling".

Also, buyers can benefit from having plenty of space in the front and a car that retains its value well, while drivers can view the road ahead from a good driving position.

Audi A3 now available in black

The Audi A3 is now available in black – a colour that used Audi dealers have found is a popular choice with forecourt shoppers.

A new limited-run edition A3 range will reach UK shores in February with the order book having already opened and price tags ranging from £22,215 to £27,395.

Fans of the Ibis White, Phantom Black, Misano Red and Monza Silver need not worry – these models will still be available, but Black Edition details, such as a de-chromed front grille, could well give it the edge.

The cabriolet [CAP DOWN?] versions also boast black surrounds for the roll bars and the shoulder line while all three versions of the A3 will have 18-inch S line-design alloy wheels.

Style lovers should note with approval that the hatchback’s privacy glass extends from the B-pillar.

Take a peek inside the Black Edition A3s and you will be greeted by the sight of high-gloss Piano black inlays.

Sports suspension, part leather-upholstered sports seats and electronic climate control are also offered on the S line package.

Audi A3 Cabriolet drivers to be given parking assistance

Parking just got easier for drivers of the new Audi A3 Carbiolet, as all models now have the option of coming with a new parallel park assist system.

The technology comprises ultrasonic sensors which can seek out parking spaces, alert the driver to the window of opportunity availability via a Driver Information System (DIS) and then automatically steer the car into the space.

For the privilege of being able to get themselves into a tight spot drivers will have to pay £725 for their Sport and S line versions of the A3 Cabriolet to be fitted with the parallel park assist system, while standard model drivers will have to pay £925 to have DIS and the parallel park assist system installed.

However, standard spec drivers will have alloy wheels, semi-automatic hood operation, air conditioning, powered windows and mirrors and a CD audio system as a matter of course.

Sport and S line models, meanwhile, will come with a fully automatic acoustic hood and wind deflector.

Audis have proved popular in the UK in recent years, and the manufacturer broke the 100,000 sales barrier in 2007.

Audi A3 Cabriolet makes world debut

Audi has shown its new A3 Cabriolet model to the world, months before it hits the UK market.

The vehicle was revealed to the industry on Friday 30th November and is the third soft-top in the company’s range expansion plan.

It comes in four engine variants, two petrol and two diesel, all with direct injection turbo-charging units with front-wheel drive only available from launch.

Audi commented that the vehicle also benefits from improved safety, due to the way in which it is put together.

"The [model] will be available with either a semi or fully automatic hood specification while crucially for an open car, its advanced body structure features a high proportion of high-strength steel reinforcing measures," said the firm.

Audi has been distributing the A3 range since 1996 in three and five-door versions.

The vehicle has been assembled in Ingolstadt, Germany and Brussels in Belgium.

Green Audi A3 free from congestion charge

Audi’s environmentally-friendly A3 will be exempt from the congestion charges under consideration in London.

The A3 1.9 TDI offers a CO2 output of 119 grammes per kilometre and increases fuel economy to 62.7 miles to the gallon.

Its optimised engine, transmission and aerodynamics allow these reductions, while a five-speed manual transmission reaching 120 mph proves that nothing is sacrificed in the process.

Audi has said that such eco-friendly moves will become commonplace across the manufacturer’s vehicles in years to come.

"The measures taken to increase economy and minimise emissions in the A3 will also be employed in the creation of more efficient versions of other models in the Audi range in the near future," the company stated.

Meanwhile, the Association of British Drivers has criticised congestion charging, branding it "the latest high-tech weapon under development by the government in its undeclared war on drivers" on its website.
