I remember a time when the only people bending over to pick up a penny were the homeless and the odd superstitious folk looking for good fortune. In a dramatic twist, I’m now seeing cityslicker bankers crease up their Burton suit trousers to scrap for the loose change. In this economic meltdown the pennies are starting to make big differences. I can’t really say it’s a bad thing, but it’s definitely an unsual sight. With that said, it’s no wonder that everyone is trying to make their hard earned cash work that little bit harder.
Here at VCARS, we’ve noticed a dramatic change in our user search criteria. We’re getting a lot more “green” related search terms flooding in. We’re not saying it’s all related to lack of personal funds; we’re sure some of you genuinely are starting to care about the planet a little more. No, really.
The most apparent trend that has spiked in our statistics is that car buyers want more miles per gallon, a lot more. Car manurfacturers haven’t been bone idle to the news flash, they’ve had their ears to the ground and are more than aware of the ever growng demand for the green. And that’s precisely why more and more fuel efficient vehicles are flooding the market. It was only a few years ago that 35mpg seemed impressive. Not anymore; consumers are now demanding double the performance. Let’s face it, being Green is now cool. Fonzy cool.
Here’s a list of 10 cars with exceptional fuel efficiency that will surely make your cash go further. You know what? They don’t look all that bad either…
