10/07/2008 New version of Proton Gen-2 unveiled

Proton Cars has launched a new version of its popular Gen-2 hatchback – available now in dealerships across the UK.

A quick look at the publicity photos reveals that the Gen-2 hatchback now boasts a new sporty interior with red trim adorning the seats, doors and steering wheel.

Punters who plump for the GLS model can recline on a new cloth interior, whereas those choosing the 1.6 GSX model will have leather seats.

A number of features will look familiar to Gen-2 Persona owners – automatic central locking, remote-operated boot release and door mounted window switches have all been retained.

But outside the car a serious makeover has taken place. The new Gen-2 GSX model has new alloy wheels and race-themed black-backed headlamps really look the part.

An aggressive bumper and grille on all models is likely to give the new version a maximum aerodynamic head-start over its rivals.

With prices starting at just £8,995 OTR and three years free RAC cover thrown in, the new cars are sure to be in demand with discerning motorists.
