Bentley to unleash coupe in 2008

Posted in Brooklands news on March 09th, 2007

The four-seat coupe has been styled on the drivers at the renowned Brooklands racetrack of the 1920s.

Set for a roll out in early 2008, the Bentley Brooklands possesses a 530bhp, twin-turbocharged 6.75-litre engine, the most powerful V8 ever constructed.

The imperious vehicle also gives the driver a degree of flexibility, with a semi-automatic function allowing drivers to use a manual gear selection.

A luxury interior will also be incorporated within the new car, of which only 550 are to be rolled out, featuring a wood veneer and a leather hide.

Dr Franz-Josef Paefgen, chairman at Bentley, said that the new model had been inspired by "Bentley’s proud sporting pedigree".

He also said that the Bentley Brooklands captures the "style, power and splendour of that era [1920s]".
