Classic car insurance broker Footman James has named the three current cars that they believe will become future classics.
Mazda MX-5, Bugatti Veyron and Audi TT have been voted as the three cars most likely to be classic cars of the future in a recent survey. One in every 14 (7%) respondents thought Mazda’s MX-5 would stand the test of 50 years. One in 20 (5%) respondents believed the £2000,000 Bugatti Veyron would be the car most revered in five decades and one in 25 (4%) respondents thought the Audi TT would be the classic car of the future.
Honourable mentions also went to the Aston Martin DB9, Fiat 500, Audi R8, Lotus Elise, Jaguar’s XKR, XF and XK. Each of those models were named 3% of the time.
Here in the VCARS office, we would like to add: BMW Z8 and a Porsche 911. But away from the supercars, we went for VW Golf and Beetle. There was even a late shout for a Saab 9 3!
